Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

TrekTrack (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mileage logging app for gig workers and teams. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using TrekTrack (the mobile app and website at trektrack.pro), you agree to this policy.

Short version: We collect location and trip data so we can calculate mileage and reports for you. We store it in your account with row-level security. We do not sell your personal data or use your location for advertising.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the TrekTrack mobile applications (iOS and Android), the TrekTrack website, and related services operated in connection with the app. It does not cover third-party platforms you may import data from (for example Uber, DoorDash, Lyft, or Instacart).

2. Information we collect

  • Account information. Email address and authentication credentials when you sign up or sign in (including optional guest / anonymous sessions). Auth is handled by Supabase Auth.
  • Location data. When you start GPS tracking or enable auto-detect, we access device location to measure distance and detect driving. This may include:
    • While using the app — for active manual trips.
    • In the background / “Always” — when you enable background tracking (Pro) or auto-detect, so mileage can continue while you use other apps or the screen is locked.
We may store start/end coordinates and a sparse route of points for a trip so you can review maps and verify mileage. Location is not collected when tracking and auto-detect are both off.
  • Trip and expense data. Dates, miles, tips or earnings you enter, notes, business vs personal purpose, import source labels, and related report totals.
  • Imported files. If you upload a CSV export from a gig platform, we parse trip rows you choose to import into your account.
  • App preferences. Settings such as theme, battery/GPS mode, auto-detect, lock-screen controls, map match, Bluetooth / activity gates, and IRS mileage rate used for reports.
  • Device and purchase signals. Subscription status via Apple App Store or Google Play billing (purchase tokens / entitlement status, not your full payment card details).
  • Diagnostics (limited). Basic operational errors needed to keep the service working. We do not run third-party advertising SDKs that track you across apps.

3. How we use your information

  • Calculate trip distance, mileage expenses, and earnings-related reports
  • Sync and store your trips securely in your account
  • Power auto-detect, background tracking, maps, tax export packages, and lock-screen controls you enable
  • Authenticate you and protect account access
  • Process Pro subscriptions and restore purchases
  • Respond to support requests you send us
  • Improve reliability and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your location data for targeted advertising.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the EEA/UK), we process data to perform our contract with you, with your consent where required (for example certain location permissions), and for legitimate interests such as securing the service, balanced against your rights.

5. How we store and protect data

Trip and settings data are stored in Supabase (hosted PostgreSQL) with authentication and row-level security so users can only access their own rows. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.

6. Data retention

We retain trip and account data while your account is active so you can run multi-year reports and tax exports. You may delete individual trips in the app at any time. For full account deletion, contact us (see below).

7. Sharing and third parties

We share data only as needed to run TrekTrack:

  • Supabase — authentication and database. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Apple / Google — in-app purchases and platform services.
  • Map tiles / optional road matching — when you view maps or enable road-snap, your device may request map or routing services with sparse coordinates for that trip.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Location: Deny or revoke location permission in system Settings.
  • Trips: Edit or delete trips in the app.
  • Account deletion: Email support@trektrack.app from your account email and request deletion.

9. Children’s privacy

TrekTrack is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
